During the first week of December BBA INSEEC, Bordeaux campus hosted ‘Cuisine du Monde’. This event was a complete success and warmed up the students’ hearts and stomachs. The event welcomed all the international exchange students following their academic semester at BBA INSEEC and the student association (PEA Weis). Together the students cooked an extensive range of dishes from around the world. Because the event was set up in the Hall at lunch time, the rush towards this eclectic buffet lasted for 2 hours.
In total more than 15 nationalities were represented and BBA INSEEC students enjoyed a large selection of homemade savory and sweet dishes served by the cooks themselves. Exchange students tasted French cooking as the PEA Weis brought some specialties such as Tartes Tatin, Cannelés, Tartes au Maroil, Quiches, Bokits and Colombo. They also put their cooking hats on and teamed up to make Korean Noodles, Nems, Turkish Pizza, Tortillas, Paëlla, Apple cake, Poppy cake, Dutch cookies and Samosas.
Beyond its culinary aspect, Cuisine du Monde offers another opportunity to all the 2nd year students: because it is at this time of the year that they are in the process of selecting the universities in which they would like to make an exchange for a semester abroad. This event provided an informal environment in which BBA students could meet and talk with the international students coming from some 26 different partner universities. The student’s discussed about academic opportunities as well as cultural norms and general information about the foreign country as a possible study abroad destination.
The International Office team asked Maxime DE SOUSA, the official student reporter, to shoot the event and interview students, the film will soon be available on the BBA INSEEC-ECE YouTube channel. With their academic semester coming to an end, the video will act as a nice souvenir for the exchange students reminding them of their French experience. It will also serve as a communication medium for the future BBA INSEEC international students. To access the BBA INSEEC YouTube channel, please click here.
